“We started signing with our son when he was about 6 months old. At about his first birthday, he could speak two words and we were sure he was ready to begin talking so we stopped teaching him new signs. What a mistake. Like most kids, he really didn't start to talk until he was two. So when our second son was born we immediately began signing, and our older son began picking it up again. Our oldest son is now 3 1/2 and his vocabulary is off the charts! He loves books and has even started to read! Our youngest son began making his first sign when he was only five months old. Parenting is so much easier when you know what your child wants. How exciting it is to see your baby communicate with you!”
